The Comprehensive Housing Study and Supporting Infrastructure Assessment for Cavalier County was a forward-thinking initiative to address critical challenges in workforce housing and infrastructure. Prompted by a growing demand for affordable and diverse housing options to support economic development, the study aimed to position Cavalier County as a leader in sustainable rural development. The project was funded through the North Dakota Department of Commerce’s Rural Housing Workforce Grant, showcasing the county’s commitment to leveraging state resources for community growth.

The study, led by Burian & Associates and supported by Praxis Strategy Group, involved a multi-faceted approach, including comprehensive data collection, stakeholder engagement, and in-depth analysis of housing supply, demand, and conditions. It also examined the infrastructure needs required to support both current and future housing developments. These efforts resulted in a roadmap tailored to Cavalier County’s unique challenges and opportunities.

This project lays the foundation for Cavalier County to foster vibrant communities, ensuring housing and infrastructure are equipped to support economic growth and meet the evolving needs of its residents. By utilizing the Rural Housing Workforce Grant, the county is taking a vital step toward enhancing the quality of life for its citizens and building a sustainable future.
